At Ohio HealthCare Federal Credit Union we know the importance of educating children on financial well-being. Through a variety of products, we make it possible for those at any age to start saving for the future.

The CU Save Savings Account works much like our traditional savings account. It provides a basic membership for our younger members, ages 0-18. We simply require that the account have at least $5 in it at all times. Plus, we’ll even pay dividends on the account if the balance is at least $100.
And since we want to make saving fun, our branches have small gifts for our small savers.
Our "CU Savers" can even take advantage of the OHCFCU ATM or Debit card once they turn 16. The card is free and provides access to thousands of surcharge-free ATMs nationwide. Click here to learn more about our ATM/Debit Cards.
Our “CU Savers” can take advantage of a CU Save Checking Account once they turn 16. They receive all of the same perks as our traditional checking account holders. Click here to learn more about our checking accounts.
Not only do we want to teach our younger members the value of a savings account, we want to offer other investment options as well! Since we know that our “CU Savers” haven’t saved as much as our older members, we have made a special share certificate just for them. Rather than our typical $500 minimum, the CU Save Share Certificate only requires a $250 minimum. Plus, our members can deposit more money into them at any time. They are 24-month certificates and they receive the same rate as our current traditional 24-month certificate.

Need the security and ease of a VISA card? While we can’t offer a traditional credit card to our under 18 group, we do have VISA Gift Cards available for purchase. VISA Gift Cards are available in any increments up to $500 and cost $3 per card.

Every year OHCFCU offers two $1500 scholarships to graduating seniors furthering their education. Scholarship applications are available on our website and at our branches beginning January 1. All applications must be submitted no later than February 15. Our winners are notified in April.
The winners of our scholarships are automatically eligible to receive another $1500 at the close of their freshman post-secondary year. Our only requirement is an overall GPA of at least 3.0 during the first year.
